01 / The project
What it does
Treg is a proxy and registry that gives AI agents access to external tools through a single base URL and token. It catalogs thousands of endpoints from many providers, such as SEO, social, enrichment, scraping, and image and video generation, billed per call, and also lets teams register their own API keys, CLIs, and skills. The proxy relays requests upstream and injects authentication server-side, so callers never hold credentials.
02 / The observation
What actually moved
RiseFinder’s dated GitHub readings show 1,742 stars on 2026-09-21 and 3,606 on 2026-09-28. That is 1,864 additional stars, or about 107% from the earlier reading. The frozen weekly list preserves the comparison; the repository is the original source.
03 / How to read it
Attention is not adoption
A GitHub star can mean someone bookmarked a project. It does not show active users, production deployments, paying customers, or revenue. The week-to-week change is a reason to look closer, not a growth score for the business behind it.
If you are evaluating the project, look for recent releases, issue responses, contributors beyond the core team, and independent examples of real use. If you are researching a topic to cover, check whether the same interest appears outside GitHub before calling it a durable trend.
