garagehq/nightcrawler

Repository · seen by GitHub, HackerNews

An autonomous penetration testing agent that runs entirely on a phone. Left on a network, it discovers hosts, probes services, tests for known vulnerabilities and writes a report, with no cloud connection anywhere in the loop. A 1.2 billion parameter model running on the phone's GPU decides what to do next. It works slowly and one action at a time, which makes it far harder to spot than a scanner that hits every host at once.

Flagged 6 August 2026 · 593 → 676 stars · +14%
Signal

Forks increased from 27 to 44 in a day, up 63%, while stars rose 35.4% and watchers 25%. With 44 forks against 593 stars, the repository drew more hands-on activity, although a fork alone does not show that the project was run in production.

02Day 2

veedstudio/open-edit

Repository · seen by GitHub, HackerNews

An open source video editing pipeline from VEED that has no timeline and no interface. Editing happens entirely through a coding agent: cut and reframe footage, layer motion graphics, turn slides or web pages into video. Source footage is optional, since stills and generated media are enough for some briefs. The renderer is free to use but closed, while everything driving it is open.

Flagged 6 August 2026 · 141 → 251 stars · +78%
Signal

Stars 94 to 141, up 50%, and forks 3 to 8. The pitch is a video editor you own rather than rent, driven by a coding agent, and this is day one on the list.

How to read this

Method

Every riser shows the earlier and latest reading. Count-based signals also show their percentage change. Rankings show the number of positions climbed from the earlier position to the latest one; a lower position is better.

Funding rounds show disclosed amounts and targets. Company rank movement shows a third-party 90-day momentum signal, current position and observation date. Archived briefings preserve each day’s published signals and follow-ups.
